Summer Break!

May 12, 2010

GMU CRs wish all students a safe and fun Summer Break!  See you in the Fall!

Stay involved in the GOP over the summer!
Even though school is out for the year, you can still stay involved! Consider joining the Young Republicans. Visit http://yrfv.org/ to find your local Chapter. Also, if you’re a VA resident, don’t forget to vote in the primary on June 8th!

New Student Org
There is a new organization on campus looking for students who are interested in foreign policy, and are smart, well-organized, and able to help get the group off the ground. It is a nationwide association of campus organizations called the Hamilton Society, and they are looking for suitable student leaders to help their mission. The Hamilton Society’s role will be to encourage thoughtful debate on campus regarding foreign policy issues, to offer conservative points of view, and to provide guest speakers, symposia, debates, and national conferences.

If you think that you would like to serve as a student leader for the Hamilton Society, please feel free to share you interest with Professor Colin Dueck by sending him an email at cdueck@gmu.edu.

Club fundraising
Reserve your copy of “The War on Success: How the Obama Agenda is Shattering the American Dream,” by Tommy Newberry. Normally this book goes for $25-$30, but we’re offering it for the low price of $15!! Supplies are limited, so respond ASAP if you want a book. We’ll reserve a copy for you to have this Fall.

Farewell
As you all know, I didn’t run for anything on the Executive Board this year. I wish the club well. It’s been a pleasure serving the club’s members for the past 3 years as 2nd Vice and 1st Vice Chairman. During the past three years, we’ve hosted multiple speakers, and help to elect candidates from school board to the Governor’s mansion. The club is in very capable hands and has what I think will be the best Executive Board the club has seen for a while. Good luck and have a great school year!

Josh St. Louis, former 1st Vice Chairman
