Phonebanking Time — With Susan Allen!

Hey Everyone!

Come out for phonebanking for John Cook (Braddock District Supervisor) this Wednesday with the College Republican Group! We will be meeting at the clocktower at 7pm and then will either walk or drive over to the campaign office. If you’d like to ride or help us drive, please let us know!

April 19th at 7:30 pm in JC Room B: Election Day!

Next Tuesday (April 19th, JC Room B at 7:30pm) we will be electing new leadership for the 2011 – 2012 Academic School year. Below is a brief description of each role. For a full list of each duties, visit the Club’s Constitution.

Chairman – Official spokesman for the Club, liaison to the College Republican Federation of VA, establishes the agenda for Executive Board meetings

1st Vice Chairman – Must be ready to assume the duties of Chairman, help be a liaison to other student groups on campus.
2nd Vice Chairman – Help recruit speakers, helps recruit new members.
Secretary - Keeps the minutes from the Executive Board meetings, maintains membership lists, Can also help with email/website
Treasurer – manages the Club’s bank account, helps fundraiser and bring funds to the club. Must also maintain a public record of the club’s fiances.
Club leaders need to be active members, be in good academic standing, and cannot miss meetings (unless an excused absence)

HOW TO BECOME A CANDIDATE
Candidates may email jstloui1 (at) masonlive.gmu.edu between now and the start of the election. Nominations from the floor, by the candidate themselves, or another person, will also be allowed.

HOW THE ELECTION WILL GO:

We will start by electing Treasurer, Secretary, 2nd Vice, 1st Vice, and then Chairman. Candidates for any office will be allowed to speak. If the race is uncontested, a simple voice vote will be held.
In the event of a contested race, candidates will speak, take questions, and then give closing statements. Secret ballots will be conducted for contested races.
